Optional Reading for Next Class

Next class, we’ll be discussing the environmental impacts of ML systems. In particular, we’ll focus on evaluating the carbon footprint of sentence transformer models (both for training and inference). Optionally, please check out the Wikipedia article on AI and environmental impact.

Project work time

Based on last class, it is impossible for me to meet with each of you to discuss deliverables proposals. I will be available if you want to meet with me about deliverables proposal. Otherwise, I’m generally available to help with project questions.
